The study programme is divided into the areas of human being, furniture and space.
As the user of our designs, the human being is the main focus of interior architecture. Various topics from the fields of anthropology, ergonomics, psychology and colour perception, but also presentation, marketing, architecture, design, art and cultural history are being covered.
At the interface between man and space, furniture plays a central role in interior design: it is functional, well-designed, ergonomic, durable and can be experienced haptically. Possibilities of construction and production as well as the constant changes in furniture design are the content of the courses. In the course of their studies, all students will develop at least one piece of furniture and realise it as a prototype.
The design of space ranges from the construction of a built shell to a spatial atmosphere or mood. The theoretical studies are dealing with important teaching content on building construction, technical expansion, lighting design, material suitability and sustainability in design. In the project studies, this knowledge is applied to spatial designs and the results are communicated in the form of presentations.
The Bachelor Degree Programme enables students to study interior architecture in a contemporary and practical manner, focusing on the technical feasibility of creative solutions. Thematic accents can be set by individual choice and allow for the in-depth examination of personal interests.
The key aspects are:
- Interior, Furniture and Scenography
- Perception, Design and Presentation
- Team Spirit and Interdisciplinarity
- Communication Skills and Language Competence
- International Contacts
We shape the things we build, thereafter they shape us.
The creation of space and design of the built environment according to human needs is the main task of interior architecture. Both needs and spaces can vary greatly. Irrespective of whether they apply the acquired skills directly in professional practice or continue to study in a Master Degree Programme, our graduates are prepared for a wide range of activities on the basis of a diverse range of study projects that reflect the spectrum of different tasks.
