Urban Transformation: Urban Digital Twins, Smart Planning and AI Technologies

Dive into the digital future of urban planning! This two-day interdisciplinary summer school is aimed at doctoral candidates, early-career researchers, and professionals interested in exploring how emerging digital technologies are reshaping the way we understand, design, and govern urban environments.

The summer school aims to equip doctoral candidates and early-career researchers with theoretical insights and practical tools for applying AI, machine learning, and digital twin technologies in urban contexts. Through expert-led workshops, keynote lectures, and sessions, participants will examine how digital innovation can support more sustainable and efficient city development.

What to expect

An intensive programme of keynotes, workshops, and interactive sessions delving into emerging topics at the intersection of urbanism, artificial intelligence, and digital modelling. Participants will engage with leading experts and practitioners through a carefully curated programme that includes:

 

  • Workshop "Machine Learning and Deep Learning"
    Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Michael Mommert, HFT Stuttgart
    A workshop on the fundamentals of machine learning and deep learning. Important concepts wll be discussed and introduced using practical examples.
    Both, traditional machine learning methods and neural network architectures will be discussed for classification and regression tasks.
