The establi team simplifies the transfer of knowledge on the topic of start-ups in Germany. They provide relevant information via accessible channels and want to enable founders with a migration background to overcome language barriers. They have set themselves the goal of promoting entrepreneurship. This is done via an online platform for networking prospective founders, regular workshops and professional 1-to-1 counselling. The establi team knows where the hurdles lie thanks to its dialogue with over 1000 founders.
Even before their participation in the Startplan, the founders had the idea of promoting self-employment in teaching professions by simplifying the relevant laws in an understandable way. At the time, they were thinking of a book as a start-up guide, aimed at cooks, craftspeople and gardeners, for example. "Our participation in Startplan really laid the foundation!" Ahmet is convinced. By analysing the market, the pair discovered that the biggest difficulty at the moment is for potential founders whose native language is not German. To overcome the language barrier, they developed a video course, which they began to market. establi now runs a comprehensive English-language community on the topic of starting a business in Germany. Further languages are planned.
"Founders often don't know where to start, and at the beginning we also had huge ideas about what we wanted to get off the ground. In the start-up plan, we learnt that it can make sense to take things step by step. Before you can have a convertible, you should probably start with a skateboard first."
