The accommodation and inclusion of refugees is a challenge for municipalities that goes far beyond a short-term emergency measure. It is time to consider this issue as an integral part of long-term and holistic urban development. The Master Thesis "Just a wave? | Refugee accommodation as part of long-term urban development - coping strategies for municipalities in rural areas to accommodate refugees" therefore takes a close look at historical and current refugee movements and accommodation strategies in Germany and shows a new way forward by means of a practical brochure.
