Foreign Languages are very important at the HFT Stuttgart! The Centre for Teaching and Learning offers five languages in four different types of courses and three levels. Every semester 75 foreign language courses take place at the HFT Stuttgart.
Yes, registration is necessary for the Wednesday Courses as the number of participants is limited. No registration is required for the language courses in the lecture plan.
Yes, attendance is compulsory in all language courses.
No placement test is required for participation in a foreign language course.
Recognition of language services is possible if
VESPA (VErbund für SPrachenAngelegenheiten) is a cooperation between the Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences (HFT Stuttgart), the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart, the Stuttgart Media University and the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart, with the aim of joint language teaching across all universities.
In the Summer Semester 2020, a limited number of places in the following Language Courses (PDF) will be offered at the University of Applied Sciences (HFT Stuttgart) and the University of Media via VESPA: Chinese, English, French, Italian, Japanese, Russian and Spanish. Registration from 05.03.-16.03.2020.
VESPA offers its university members online language courses free of charge. These can be used platform-independently with a browser and an internet connection for self-study. There is also the possibility to take a placement test.

To better assess your level, you can take the integrated placement test (Speexx Placement Test). Please note the system requirements of the provider. After registration you will be asked to test your current language level. After the test you will have access to the full range of courses offered in the chosen language.
