Following the first Hemp Construction Symposium held at HFT Stuttgart in 2024, the second edition of the event will take place in autumn 2026.
A PLATFORM FOR EXCHANGE AND KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER ON THE TOPIC OF BUILDING WITH HEMP
The two-day symposium is dedicated to the world’s oldest cultivated plant and is aimed at architects, interior designers, civil engineers, and anyone interested in the topic of “building with hemp.” The focus is on the potential of industrial hemp—from basic material properties and technologies to research and educational projects, as well as completed construction projects.

An application for recognition has been submitted to the Baden-Württemberg Chamber of Architects (AKBW) and the Baden-Württemberg Chamber of Engineers.
INITIATOR
The Hemp Building Symposium is organized by the Interior Architecture program at the Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Architecture and Design. The event was initiated by Prof. Jens Betha, who, as head of the Laboratory for Natural Building Materials, has been researching this topic for several years and collaborating with experts from Central Europe.
