Laboratory description
The Laboratory for GeoAnalysis focuses on the processing, analysis and visualisation of spatial data. Another focus is on the further development and support of open source geoinformatics solutions based on OGC standards. The aim is to develop interoperable and sustainable solutions for viewing and providing GIS functionality for courses, research, environmental projects and public institutions.
The laboratory has two rooms. The first room is available in particular for guided exercises and the processing of student research projects. There are 24 computers available for this purpose, on which the following software programmes are installed, among others: QGIS, GDAL, GRASS, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, GeoServer, GeoNetwork, GeoNode, GeoDjango as well as 3D frameworks, AutoCAD, WSLandCad, Z+F LaserControl, Trimble RealWorks and others.
The second room is used for final theses in the above-mentioned application areas and is available for the development of Internet applications. A total of 5 workstations are available here, which can be individually equipped as required.
