The new City Hub in Stuttgart-Wangen is set to become a logistics hub, whilst also offering tangible added value for the neighbourhood. Under the name ‘Logitopia’ – a creative fusion of ‘logistics’ and ‘utopia’ – a space is taking shape that serves both as a logistics centre and as a meeting place for people, community and life.
With its open design, external access routes and terraced levels, the building invites visitors to explore it. Each ascending level offers an exciting view of the next through its vantage point, sparking curiosity to continue on and explore the City Hub bit by bit. Along the access routes, public spaces are cleverly arranged as adaptive, prominent volumes, creating interesting focal points.
Facing the centre of Wangen, the building slopes harmoniously and blends into its surroundings, whilst facing the main road it forms a clear, striking edge. This façade is broken up by subtracted design elements. The resulting recesses create visual interest and provide space for greenery, which brings the building to life and enhances its appeal.
‘Logitopia’ will serve as a link between logistics and daily life, as well as a symbol of the harmony between architecture and community.
