The ‘Jugendtreff Ingersheim’ Living Lab was created in 2024 as part of an international workshop for the Master's degree programme in Interior Architecture. Publications in the press and specialist publications and a nomination for the DAM Prize 2026 followed. In the ‘Shortlist - German Timber Construction Prize 2025’, it is among the top 20 out of over 200 projects. The project will be awarded the silver medal of the ‘International Prize for Sustainable Architecture’ in October.
Being awardedthe silver medal of the "International Prize for Sustainable Architecture Fassa Bortolo" by the jury chaired by Marianne Burkhalter (Atelier Burkhalter Sumi - Zurich)is a particular success:more than 80 projects were submitted to the 16th edition of the international prize for sustainable architecture.
The initiative, launched in 2003 by the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Ferrara and promoted in collaboration with the Fassa Bortolo company, was born from the desire to recognise and publicise architectural works that are in harmony with the environment, that meet human needs and that are capable of satisfying the needs of current generations without endangering those of future generations through the indiscriminate consumption of resources and pollution.
This year, the award has updated its Article 1 by placing particular emphasis and recognition on projects that demonstrate a design and planning approach focused on long-term flexibility and adaptability of building use, as well as the reversibility of building elements and their future reuse.
The award ceremony will be taking place on 15 October 2025 at Palazzo Tassoni Estense, the seat of the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Ferrara.
