OPENING OF THE "BEST OF 2023" EXHIBITION

We look back on the grand opening on 18.10.2023

In a large exhibition, the Faculty of Architecture and Design is once again presenting selected, outstanding work by students from all of the faculty's degree programmes through BEST OF 2023.

This year, the professors selected around 70 works from the enormous wealth of student research projects and final theses, all of which will are presented in a digital collection. At the same time, some of the works were exhibited "live" at the University in Building 8 from October 18 to 25.

At the vernissage of the exhibition at the University on October 18, 2023, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jan Cremers, Dean of the Faculty, welcomed about 300 guests, for whom a diverse programme awaited:

Prof. Steinhilber, former professor of structural engineering in the architecture programme, awarded four works with the "UrsulaSteinhilberPrize" and also presented book prizes to all students whose project made it into the exhibition. In addition to these awards, the special achievements of the students and graduates were honoured by the presentation of certificates.

On a total of four floors, the guests were able to discover, among other things, large-format plans, models in different scales, exciting installations, presentation videos and self-made furniture – each study programme presented itself individually.

Later in the evening, the BEST OF show followed: Under the entertaining moderation of Kaan Cuma Borazanci, the first-year students in the architecture programme presented their impressive, self-designed paper dresses in a fashion show, the result of the preparation week. Drummer Bastian Kilper provided strong accompanying beats.

The programme for the evening and the overall concept for the exhibition were developed this year for the first time by students as part of an elective course. The elective course was supervised by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jan Cremers and the academic assistants Christin Gegner and Pia Klein.

Congratulations to all awarded students and a big thank you to all teachers for their remarkable commitment in supervising the exhibited work!

Our big thank you also goes out to everyone who worked so hard to make the exhibition a reality!

You can still view all the works in the digital collection.
