On 27 November 2025, Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences welcomed a group of around 30 pupils and accompanying teachers from German schools abroad from all over the world. The visit took place as part of an information trip organised by bw_i Baden-Württemberg International, which gives young people an in-depth insight into the higher education landscape in Baden-Württemberg.

The participants come from six schools abroad - including locations in Latin America, Dubai and The Hague - and are predominantly in the 10th and 11th grades. With their different educational qualifications, from the International Baccalaureate (IB) to the Mixed Language IB (GIB) and the German Abitur, they brought with them a broad spectrum of educational paths and international perspectives.

After being welcomed by the Vice-Rector for Studies and Teaching, Prof Dr Lutz Gaspers, the young people were given an overview of the special features of universities of applied sciences and the wide range of study options at HFT Stuttgart. They then explored the campus accompanied by staff from the International Office and dedicated student scouts, stopping off at the VR/AR lab, the geotechnics lab and the business psychology lab. There, under the expert guidance of lecturers, students and staff from the participating degree programmes, they were given an active insight into practice-oriented studies at the university.

For HFT Stuttgart, the visit is a valuable contribution to international networking and the study orientation of young people. "It is a special honour to be part of this information trip with our practice-oriented profile and open campus," emphasise the organisers from the Central Student Advisory Service and the International Office. A press release issued by the German Academic Exchange Service on 26 November 2026 points out just how important and successful this international exchange can be: "Germany's universities remain highly attractive for students from all over the world: in the winter semester 2024/25, around 402,000 international students and doctoral candidates were enrolled at German universities - around six percent more than in the previous year. This continues the upward trend of recent years. More than half of the international students are enrolled in engineering and natural sciences."

And so special thanks go to bw_i Baden-Württemberg International for coordinating the trip and the trusting cooperation with our university.
