Prof Dr Max Haug
Specialism: International project management

As an architect and project manager, Max Haug is familiar with all service phases in a wide variety of roles and contractual constellations, both as a planner and as a consultant. His career began in 2007 after completing his architectural studies at MGF Architekten (Stuttgart). He specialised in hospital construction and international projects at HWP-Planungsgesellschaft and moved to Drees & Sommer in 2013, where he managed major construction projects in various execution models. Since 2021, he has focused on user project management and has been working on the opera renovation for the Württemberg State Theatre in Stuttgart since October 2023. His work as a user representative requires a high level of communication skills in order to mediate between the construction industry and the theatre world. In 2025, he completed his doctorate at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology with the thesis "Administrative resilience as a key competence for the implementation of urban development concepts" and investigated principles of programme management to develop a maturity model. Prof Dr Max Haug was appointed to the Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences for the winter semester 2025/26.
