Creative minds also need a creative space

Commit. Understand. Experiencing. Since the winter semester 19/20, our students have been able to use the creative room in LS125 at the Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences in Lautenschlagerstraße to give free rein to their ideas and creativity. The redesign of the previously conventional lecture hall is not only to support lectures with particularly interactive content, such as seminars or workshops, but also to give students the opportunity to collect and exchange innovative approaches or creative ideas with their fellow students at any time.

The room serves the purpose of generating ideas as well as promoting increasing group work in the economics courses of study and was accordingly equipped with flexibly designed tables and comfortable stools. In addition, the spatial surroundings were also coordinated with appropriate, atmospheric lighting and whiteboards, blackboards and other elements were provided. This is because, in addition to the visualisation of ideas and thoughts, the atmosphere and mood of the room also play a significant role in the learning process. Ideally, the new "change of scenery" should give the students as well as professors* and lecturers the freedom to help design the room independently according to their wishes and needs, thus ensuring a good starting point for successful and productive work.

The keyword Design Thinking is once again becoming more important at our university. The room is of course open to students at any time during and after the lecture periods!
