Joy at award ceremony - Master's theses receive awards

Prizes for three graduates from the Master's programme in Architecture

The three graduates Frizzi Kellhammer, Carla Single and Stefan Tolksdorf were awarded for their outstanding theses and were delighted to receive prize money of 350 euros and an honour in Stuttgart City Hall.

In the winter semester 2020/21, 16 students worked on a variety of final theses on the task set and supervised by Prof. Michel Roeder: "School Campus Steinenberg: New construction of a secondary school in Stuttgart Hedelfingen".

As an extension to the existing Hedelfingen Steinenberg School, a three-form entry grammar school for grades five to twelve was to be planned according to the latest didactic criteria. The task was to find a solution for several challenging general conditions at the same time: The sensible integration of the planned new building into the existing buildings and the slope situation of the site, as well as designing a new school campus.

The jury, which was formed in cooperation between the HFT Stuttgart, the Hedelfingen district council and the "Förderverein Schulcampus Hedelfingen", selected its favourites from the various design approaches in the spring. On 21 July 2021, the works of the prize winners were presented and awarded in a ceremony in the large conference room of Stuttgart City Hall.

Here are the award-winning works

Through their remarkable work, the students were able to provide the "Förderverein Schulcampus Hedelfingen" with ideas for a possible later implementation.

We congratulate the students on this success and thank all participants for their dedicated cooperation.
