Distributed over six rooms, the Faculty of Architecture and Design has approximately 108 CAD and computer workstations, which are available for common use by the faculty’s students. There is no direct assignment of the workstations, places can be chosen freely. The CAD workstations and powerful PCs of the latest generation are regularly updated.

CAD software available is Allplan, ArchiCAD, Vectorworks, AutoCAD and Rhino. All workstations are also equipped with Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office, with Cinema 4D as rendering software, with simulation programs for building services engineering as well as with bidding and procurement software. All workstations have access to a central home directory in the network, offering a data quota of up to 1 GB per user. The CAD workstations are supervised by a system manager and several IT specialists, providing students with support and advice. The workstations can be used during university opening hours and can be accessed with the student card. The Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences also provides a campus-wide WLAN.
