LINE BREAK ! - AN URBAN DEVELOPMENT CONCEPT FOR A RESILIENT AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF THE "DETTINGER WEG" NEIGHBOURHOOD IN KIRCHHEIM UNTER TECK

Master's thesis| David Gschwind | 2nd semester | winter semester 2024/25

"Line break!" - This is the title of the master's thesis, which develops a sustainable and resilient urban development concept for the "Dettinger Weg" neighbourhood in Kirchheim unter Teck. Around 800 new residential units are being created through careful redensification, preservation of the existing buildings and activation of unused areas. Communal spaces, social infrastructure, existing green structures and decentralised rainwater management strengthen the neighbourhood. The design follows the principle of triple inner development and offers a transferable strategy for similar existing neighbourhoods.
