Innovative and practical teaching

Our teaching culture combines practical, interdisciplinary teaching with project and problem-based learning formats. Numerous specialised laboratories enable practice-oriented study content with a high level of application. In addition, our SkiLL (Service Centre for Competence-Oriented & Innovative Learning & Teaching) supports you in the development of innovative teaching methods and promotes the targeted use of AI technologies in teaching.

Professional development and training

Would you like to develop your teaching and professional skills in a targeted manner? Our SkiLL Competence Centre offers you a wide range of internal professional development and training opportunities, which are supplemented by the GHD 's cross-university programme. In addition, we offer newly appointed professors a specifically tailored "Good Teaching" qualification programme to make it easier for them to get started in teaching. Every nine semesters, you can take advantage of a research, teaching and practical semester to devote yourself intensively to your research or further education.

Family and career

Whether childcare or caring responsibilities - as a family-friendly university, we support you in achieving the best possible work-life balance. For children, we offer places in a nearby childcare centre as well as emergency and holiday care. In addition, care guides are available to provide you with advice and support in the care sector.

 

Part-time professorships

The part-time professorship model has been successfully implemented at our university for several years and enables you to combine your career and private life individually or to pursue a part-time job. If a part-time professorship is possible for the advertised position, this will be explicitly stated in the job advertisement.

 

Central location and mobility

HFT Stuttgart is located in the heart of Stuttgart and has excellent public transport connections. We also promote sustainable mobility, for example with a subsidised public transport ticket(Job Ticket BW) or a job bike.

Salary and civil servant status

Professors receive a salary according to salary groups W2 or W3 of the state salary scale W, with the possibility of receiving performance-related pay for special achievements and/or functions. After a successful evaluation during the probationary period, the appointment as a civil servant for life is made after three years at the latest.
