Fundamentals of Representation | 1st to 3rd Semester

In the course of the first three semesters, students gain experience in spatial drawing by hand. After initial finger exercises on line and text, spaces and buildings are depicted on site and on excursions on the basis of descriptive geometry and perspective. Particular attention is given to the conscious perception and reproduction of proportions as well as composition. Successively, in-depth topics in architectural drawing are added, for instance the representation of light and shadow or tonal values with marker or watercolour. The continuous and consecutive maintenance of a sketchbook forms the foundation for the following semesters and the intuitive use of hand drawings in professional practice.
