The bachelor's and master's degree course in interior design has a workshop of approximately 700 m². Any materials used in creating models can be treated. In addition to the machinery for woodworking, the workshop also has machines for treatment of metal and plastic. For the production of models and details up to a scale of 1:1, the workshop provides a 3-D lab which allows for example additive production with 3-D printers.

After instruction on the equipment, students have access to work stations during university opening hours. The workshop is supervised by three employees in part and full time. Other workshops at the HFT Stuttgart can be accessed for special tasks as well.
