Exhibition HFT MACHT PAUSA 2018
Student concepts for the industrial monument Pausa in Mössingen
The exhibition showed concepts that students of the Faculty of Architecture and Design developed for the industrial monument Pausa. In Mössingen at the foot of the Swabian Alb, the former textile printshop Pausa is a remarkable monument to the history of design and industry in Württemberg. However, a large part of the collection of buildings currently lies unused, a sleeping beauty. Students from the Interior Design and ClimateEngineering programmes have developed concepts that brought the area back to life.
At the invitation of mayor Martin Gönner, students presented ideas and concepts for particularly striking buildings. The selected results were presented in the exhibition through plans, models and written essays. Large-format photographs documented the condition and conveyed the buildings’ enchanted flair. The Pausa barrel ceiling hall, sensitively converted by Baldauf Architects, provided an impressive setting for the exhibition.
The project work was supervised by Prof. Markus Binder, Prof. Peter Krebs, Volker Auch-Schwelk, Micha Klein, Martin Kusic and Andreas Waggershauser.
The photographic work was supervised by Honorary Professor Eberhard Winkler.
