BKE2 I Building Construction & Design 2 | Daniel Misch & Moritz Szekely I 2nd semester I Winter semester 2023/24

The "CASA GAGO" in San Pedro De la Paz, Chile is based on the design of the same name by architect Pezo von Elrichhausen. It is designed as an EFH in timber frame construction and integrated into the earth slope supported by concrete walls. At first glance, it appears to be a simple, upright cuboid. Inside, however, an almost central spiral staircase leads to 12 spirally offset platforms. Each one forms a room with a specific function. The complex structure leads to different room heights. Despite a small footprint (8.27m x 8.27m), this results in a large usable area (approx. 168.37m2).

The work was supervised by Prof. Ralf Petersen, Prof. Lutz Dickmann and Dipl.-Ing. Ulrich Henne.
