Series of events Dialogue forum for the exchange on the topic of artificial intelligence within the framework of the innovation laboratory M4_LAB with numerous visitors.
At the end of November, a new event in the Dialogue Forum Region Stuttgart series on "Artificial Intelligence: Understanding Technologies - Exploiting Potential" was held at the Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences.
Together with the Wirtschaftsförderung Region Stuttgart GmbH (WRS), the research focus "Technologies for spatial data and simulation" of the HFT invited regional companies and start-ups to the DIALOGFORUM Region Stuttgart on the topic of artificial intelligence at the HFT Stuttgart. In two inspiring keynotes, a look into the future could be dared:
After a short welcome by Prof. Wolfgang Huep (Vice Rector Research of the HFT Stuttgart), Dr. Rolf Reiner (Wirtschaftsförderung Region Stuttgart) and Dr. Janto Skowronek (Project M4_LAB and Management of Forschungsschwerpunkt Technologien für räumliche Daten und Simulation, HFT Stuttgart), the participants were immediately called to participate. Regional companies and young start-ups presented themselves at various stations and invited the participants to their individual stations. Acoustic signals indicated a change, so that several company stations could be visited in an orderly manner.
This was followed by the first keynote address by Dr. Thorsten Vollstedt (Daimler AG) on "AI in the digital factory". In a further interactive poster discussion, researchers from the HFT Stuttgart then presented their AI-based projects.
In the second keynote lecture by Prof. Dr. Jürgen Döllner from the Hasso-Plattner-Institute of the University of Potsdam, the potential of machine learning for 3D point clouds and geospatial digital twins was demonstrated using "Geospatial Artificial Intelligence" as an example.
In a subsequent poster round, further regional companies and start-ups could present themselves and make new contacts according to the already known principle.
With more than 120 participants, the dialogue forum received a broad response and attracted far more interested people than expected in the planning stage. Participants of the event were decision-makers* and developers* from the company divisions who wanted to work with AI solutions or exchange ideas with researchers and teachers from the university about the possibilities of AI.
The topic "Artificial Intelligence" obviously hit the nerve of the time and shows how important it is to develop and elaborate this topic.
Knowledge transfer to society
Within the framework of the Innovative University, the transfer of knowledge from the HFT Stuttgart to society will be further expanded. The Dialogue Forum Region Stuttgart offers a suitable platform to promote precisely this transfer and exchange of knowledge between experts and interested parties.
The event series DIALOGFORUM REGION STUTTGART offers an exchange platform between the scientists of the Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences and representatives from business and politics of the Stuttgart Metropolitan Region within the framework of the Innovation Laboratory Metropolitan Region 4.0 (M4_LAB) in cooperation with the Wirtschaftsförderung Region Stuttgart GmbH.
