Why did you decide to study at the Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences?

Welcoming the freshmen

Rector Prof. Dr. Katja Rade welcomed the new students of the winter semester 2022/23 at HFT Stuttgart on September 26, 2022. Due to the Corona location, the opening ceremony was held separately according to study programs. Four celebrations took place one after the other - a huge effort and tight schedule for all involved. But the joy of welcoming our first-semester students in presence at the university outweighed everything.

615 young women and men were admitted in the winter semester for one of the 13 HFT bachelor's degree programs starting in the winter semester 2022/23, and 248 are beginning their master's studies. A varied day awaited them all. The new students were given a tour of the university and got to know the people responsible for the respective degree programs in more detail. Important information before starting their studies was provided by the examination office and the Service Center for Competence-Oriented & Innovative Learning & Teaching, or SkiLL for short. In addition, the first-year students were informed at an "info market" about great offers outside of their studies that make student life more exciting and varied, such as foreign language and soft skill offers, stays abroad, university sports and internal university activities.

What do you want and expect from your studies?

"Why did you decide to study at the Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences?", Rector Prof. Dr. Katja Rade wanted to know from the first-year students. "What wishes and expectations do you have for your studies?"

To get the answers to these questions, a survey was launched at the respective opening ceremonies, in which a total of 464 people participated. The results were immediately made visible. 52.8 percent of all those who participated in the survey chose HFT Stuttgart because the university is close to home. 38.58 percent said that the uniqueness of the chosen degree program influenced their decision. Stuttgart as a preferred place to study was cited by 34.05 percent as a reason, while the good reputation of HFT Stuttgart was the deciding factor for 31.68 percent.

Why you chose HFT Stuttgart is of burning interest to us, because this knowledge helps us to provide all prospective students with relevant and exciting information for their decision-making process and to support you in your studies in the best possible way.
