HFT graduate successfully awarded doctorate

On December 14, 2022, former HFT student Juliane Kurasch successfully defended her dissertation at the University of Wuppertal (BUW)

After graduating very well from the HFT Stuttgart in the Bachelor's program Infrastructure Management and the Master's program Transport Infrastructure Management, Juliane Kurasch was able to submit her dissertation as an external doctoral candidate in Wuppertal. Juliane Kurasch is thus also the first graduate of the Master's program in Transportation Infrastructure Management to successfully complete a doctorate.

The research work, which deals with the quality of bus feeder systems in interaction with the SPNV, was made possible by a cooperation with the Bergische Universität Wuppertal. The doctoral thesis was supervised on the one hand by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ulrike Reutter, Head of the Department of Public Transport Systems and Mobility Management, and on the other hand by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Lutz Gaspers, Head of the Competence Center Mobility and Transport at the HFT. The very good result proves that relevant, practice-oriented research is also initiated and carried out at universities of applied sciences and thus once again underpins the recently granted right to award doctorates to HAWs.

Studies in the Master's program in Transportation Infrastructure Management can be started in the summer semester and in the winter semester.
