Representative body for severely disabled persons

Persons of trust for applicants and employees with disabilities and/or chronic illnesses

The Representative Body for Severely Disabled Employees is the elected representative body for severely disabled and equivalent employees at Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences. It consists of a representative for severely disabled employees and one or more deputies. The election takes place every 4 years.

We perform our duties on a voluntary basis. We are not bound by instructions and in our role we exclusively represent the interests of severely disabled employees, employees of equal status and chronically ill employees at HFT.

In addition to attending meetings of the Staff Council, the Occupational Safety Working Group, quarterly meetings with the Rectorate, training courses and conferences, our activities include the following tasks:

  • Support and advice in conflict situations, bullying, discrimination and other workplace issues
  • Workplace inspections to determine the need for accompanying assistance, including work assistance or optimization of workplace equipment
  • Participation in company integration management (BEM)
  • Participation and advice in recruitment procedures, insofar as severely disabled persons and persons with equivalent status are involved in the procedure

The representative body for severely disabled employees is subject to a statutory duty of confidentiality. It goes without saying that all personnel matters are treated confidentially.
