The NLP Lab, together with the AI Perception Lab, forms the HFT AI Lab. The NLP Lab conducts research into the automatic analysis of text data using machine learning methods.
The focus is on the application area "learning and testing". for example by supporting human raters in correcting free text questions. The reliable, rapid feedback from formative tests in turn benefits student learning.
Lab results feed into required and elective courses such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Data Mining, or Data Analytics. The lab supports final theses (bachelor's and master's) in the field of machine learning.
In the lab we could also welcome guest researchers and conduct collaborations with other research institutions.
