Laboratory for Water Protection

Tasks

Since 2002 the laboratory has been dealing with scientific-technical and process engineering tasks in the field of water protection and wastewater treatment. On the one hand, the aim is the application of design tools for advanced wastewater and stormwater treatment, also including dynamic simulation in wastewater treatment. On the other hand, the demonstration of demonstration objects for measurement/control and regulation technology such as the aeration of aeration tanks is a further element of a practical training. All facilities are available for the implementation of projects and final theses.

Devices and equipment

• Two physical demonstration plants for solid-liquid separation with comprehensive measurement, control and regulation technology (Festo Didaktik, Esslingen-Denkendorf and the company Adiro, Esslingen)
• Software tools for the design of sewage treatment plants and infiltration systems according to the DWA regulations (Activation Expert Kombi 3.0 and Infiltration Expert)
• Software tools for the dynamic simulation of wastewater treatment plants (SIMBA classroom)
