A daylight simulator creates changeable light situations, it consists of two elements, the artificial sun, which is fixed in the second component, the artificial sky. Different sky conditions such as sunny, overcast or cloudy can be simulated and recorded for all places in the world.
The artificial sky, a translucent hemisphere of 4.20 m diameter, is equipped with 360 of one to one hundred percent infinitely dimmable fluorescent lamps of the highest colour rendering quality and a colour temperature of 6000 Kelvin, which corresponds to daylight.
The artificial sun simulates parallel sunlight by means of a halogen bulb with parabolic reflector. The trainer enables the simulation of any solar orbit at any date and any place in the world. This construction makes it possible to reproduce the brightness of the sky and the circumsolar radiation (the sky is brighter in the area of the sun) in great detail.
