HFT.Space

A unique experimental space and a high-quality recreational area is being created in the inner courtyard between the main building and House 3.

Innovations in future-orientated planning and sustainable construction are being researched using temporary, real-life prototypes. The prototypes are being developed and built in teaching and research projects. Previous research results as well as new processes, materials, and methods are proved in practice. New forms of use are being implemented. New technologies, construction and production methods are being tested.

Topics

  • Research and demonstration objects
  • Application of new planning methods, construction principles, materials, (digital) technologies, climate-friendly design, smart home technology, AI
  • Transfer of research results into real-life applications
  • Redesign of the inner courtyard, including deep courtyards and footbridge
  • Improvement of the quality of stay and greening
  • Showcase for exchange between science, business, and the public

Goals / Results

A real-world laboratory for future-orientated planning and construction with innovative prototypes is being created. These are being developed in teaching and research projects — even beyond the implementation period.

The inner courtyard will be an attractive, informative, and lively place for everyone to spend time and view exhibitions.
