HFT.Area

By area, we consider the entire campus grounds of the university, from Holzgartenstrasse to Schlossstrasse to Stadtgarten, including all buildings and the public space in between.

The university's facilities have so far only been visited to a limited extent by the urban community and are not perceived as a single entity. The campus should therefore become spatially recognisable and visible as a whole, both to outsiders as well as university members. A particular focus is on improving the addressability and connecting the main building with the city garden ("Stadtgarten") and inner courtyard as well as the surrounding street areas.

In order to engage in direct exchange with the publik, new exhibition formats and communication channels must be created. The actions taken in HFT.Venue and HFT.Space are important components in this regard. They lay the foundation for exchange on innovation topics with existing and future cooperation partners from industry, urban society, and other external research institutions.

Topics

  • Creation of an identity-forming, internal and external unity of the campus
  • Development of a holistic campus guidance system
  • Reflection of the keywords "climate-competent" and "networked" through green and lively outdoor areas
  • Research topics are made visible through experimental and innovative buildings and event formats
  • Permanent public exhibition of student work and research results on the campus grounds
  • Improvement of perception, orientation, and communication through uniformed elements

Goals / Results

The campus is enlivened by university members and the urban community and has a strong appeal to the urban space and the public.
