Baden-Württemberg Scholarship

The Baden-Württemberg Scholarship supports the international exchange of highly qualified foreign students between universities in Baden-Württemberg and universities outside the ERASMUS area. In addition to a study or research stay, the Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM offers scholarship holders the opportunity to mature in their personal development and competence through intercultural experiences as well as to develop sensitivity and appreciation towards other cultures within the framework of the "regional development component (REK)".

  1. You are an exchange student from a partner university of the HFT Stuttgart or you are an international degree seeking student of HFT from an LDC
  2. You do not receive any other scholarships or financial support from your home university (e.g. ERASMUS), your home country or from Germany (e.g. DAAD, Deutschlandstipendium, BaföG).

Please send the following documents to iso.aaa@hft-stuttgart.de:

  1. motivation letter
  2. for exchange students: current transcript of records from the home university (and maybe from HFT)
    for international degree seeking students at HFT from LDCs: current transcript of record from HFT (students from the 1st master semester can hand in their bachelor grades from the home country)
  3. CV

Deadline: December 15 for the following summer semester, June 15 for the following winter semester

  1. The International Office and the programme coordinators will make the pre-selection of applicants.
  2. Applicants receive log-in data for the online application from the International Office. This applicant information is then transmitted to the central scholarship commission. Attention! If you apply directly to the BW Foundation without our nomination, you will not receive a scholarship.
  3. The Baden-Württemberg Stiftung makes the final decision on the award of the scholarships. Further information on the Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM can be found at www.bw-stipendium.de.
  4. By accepting the Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM of the Baden-Württemberg Stiftung, you attest that you are not at the same time receiving another grant for studying during the duration of the scholarship.

Rent subsidy from the Robert Breuning Foundation

In agreement with the Studierendenwerk Stuttgart and the Association of Friends and Sponsors of the Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences, the Robert Breuning Foundation awards rent subsidies to international students of HFT Stuttgart who are accommodated in the dormitories of the Studierendenwerk Stuttgart.

The rent subsidy is 150 € per month for the supported period of one semester.

The maximum duration of financial support is

  • 6 semesters for bachelor students and will be awarded maximum until the 8th enrollment semester,
  • 3 semesters für master students and will be awarded maximum until the 5th enrollment semester.
    1. You are a regular international student or exchange student from a partner university of HFT Stuttgart.
    2. You live in the student dormitory(Studierendenwerk) in Stuttgart.

    1. The International Office selects the scholarship holders on the basis of the files and after consultation with the program coordinators.
    2. The students will be informed about the result of the selection.

    DAAD-Scholarships

    The International Office annually raises scholarship funds from the German Academic Exchange Service, which can be awarded to international students of the HFT Stuttgart.

    The aim is, on the one hand, to enable qualified international students to concentrate on their final thesis by providing a graduation scholarship (Studienabschlussstipendium). Scholarships for particularly committed international students (Stipendium für besonders engagierte internationale Studierende) are intended to improve the supervision of international students by having scholarship holders take on supervisory tasks in agreement with the International Office.

    1. You are a regular international degree seeking student at HFT Stuttgart
    2. You have at least good academic achievements.
    3. Scholarship for committed international students: You are distinguished by your outstanding commitment to supporting international students.
      Graduation scholarship: You will complete your studies within one year.

    2. Students will be informed about the result of the selection.

    DAAD Prize

    Every year HFT Stuttgart awards the DAAD prize to an international student who has distinguished himself or herself through special academic achievements andsocial or intercultural commitment. This award "should help to give faces to the large numbers of international students at German universities and to connect them with stories. (German Academic Exchange Service)

    Candidates are proposed by the study programmes and the final prize winner is selected at the prize winners' meeting. A direct application for the prize is not possible.

    Who can receive the prize?

    international students,

    • who aspire to a degree at the HFT (no exchange students)
    • who are in at least the 4th semester of a bachelor's programme or the 2nd semester of a master's programme
    • who have outstanding academic achievements
    • who are socially or (inter)culturally committed
