International Study Program

1. German language courses

As part of the VErbund für SPrachenAngelegenheiten (VESPA), HFT Stuttgart offers several english taught courses that are open to international students across all fields of study.

  • Intensive course: 3 ECTS
    • Level A1 to B2
    • Course duration: 18 course days, Mon - Fri / 72 teaching units (4 x 45 minutes/course day)
    • Course start: four weeks prior to the semester start
    • Costs: 100 Euro + course book
  • Semester Course: 2 ECTS
    • Level A1 to C1
    • Course duration: 12 course days, each Wednesday / 48 teaching units (4 x 45 minutes/course day)
    • Course start: at the beginning of the semester
    • Costs: 50 Euro + course book


2. Interdisciplinary, elective courses

We offer a variety of workshops from the following topics: 

Exchange students can receive ECTS upon successful participation.

    Registration is expected to be available from mid-September and will be made on Evenoo .

    Application of exchange students

    Exchange students from HFT partner universities can be accepted up to two semesters. If you are studying at a university that is NOT a partner university of HFT Stuttgart, you may apply as a "Freemover".

    Steps to a successful application for exchange students

    Nomination by the partner university to

    • by 15 April for the following winter semester
    • by 15 October for the following summer semester
    • Nominated students will receive all application documents and further information on the language course and accommodation by email.

    Application by the student

    • by 01 May for the following winter semester
    • by 01 November for the following summer semester
