Since 2018 HFT Stuttgart has been one of a total of 48 innovative universities in Germany.
Federal-Länder Initiative "Innovative University"
The federal-state initiative to promote the research-based transfer of ideas, knowledge and technology "Innovative Hochschule" was adopted by the heads of the federal and state governments in summer 2016. The funding is intended to expand transfer in the sense of the "third mission" at universities of applied sciences and smaller universities. This is not directly about teaching and research, but about the transfer of these areas to industry and society. The call for proposals "Innovative University" is one of the measures in the Excellence Initiative of the Federal Government and the Länder, in which universities of applied sciences were included for the first time.
M4_LAB - Metropolitan Region 4.0
The transfer project funded at the HFT Stuttgart stands for "Metropolregion 4.0 - Innovation and transfer from transdisciplinary research for energy-efficient urban development, sustainable management and production in the Stuttgart Metropolitan Region.
