The university applies the principles of gender mainstreaming. This means that all plans, concepts and activities of the university are examined from the very beginning for their impact on gender equality. The university is supported by

  • the "Gleichstellungsbeauftragte" (responsible for women working in science and female students) and
  • the "Beauftragte für Chancengleichheit" (responsible for administrative and technical staff).

The "Gleichstellungsbeirat", in which professors from all faculties are involved, works on university-wide concepts for the actual implementation of equality between women and men.

The comparatively high proportion of women among the students, even in the very technical disciplines of the university, shows that the HFT Stuttgart is particularly attractive for female students.

More information can be found in the "Gleichstellungs- und Chancengleichheitsplan".
