At INTERGEO, the trade fair and conference for geodesy, geoinformation and land management, Hamidreza Ostadabbas received the "Student's Contest 2019 Award" from the Council of European Geodetic Surveyors (CLGE) for his master's thesis
The CLGE sees itself as the umbrella organisation of geodesy for about 50 different professional organisations in Europe. The fair took place in Stuttgart in 2019. In a ceremony Hamidreza Ostadabbas presented his work and received the certificate in the "Category Cadaster" from Nicolas Smith, CLGE treasurer, and a cheque with the prize money of 1,000 Euros.
Master's thesis led to permanent employment
The work was carried out at Dr. Koch Immobilienbewertung GmbH, Esslingen. Dr. Heike Weippert was in charge of the topic and the company, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Franz-Josef Behr was the supervisor on the HFT Stuttgart side. The work in the master's course of studies "Photogrammetry and Geoinformatics" with the title "Database Transformation, Cadastre Automatic Data Processing in QGIS and Implementation in Web GIS" examined to what extent the data of the official cadastral survey administration can be used with open source software solutions for tasks of purchase price collection and representation of land reference values on the Internet. Hamidreza Ostadabbas examined the performance of the open source tools and compiled a solution-adequate architecture. The convincing performance has led to a permanent position at Dr. Koch Immobilienbewertung GmbH.
